Veteran Argentinean driver "Orly" Terranova will take part in the 2022 Dakar - the 17th of his career - once again as a member of the powerful BRX team, now navigated by Spaniard Alex Haro. The Mendoza native's experience dates back to the African editions with participations on a motorbike in 2005 and 2007, which he didn't finish. Everything changed in 2009 with the Dakar's move to South America. Orly switched to four wheels and began to build a successful track record, demonstrating his talent, speed and competitiveness. Some of his best results were fifth places in 2013 and 2014, with stage victories and epic duels with Nasser Al Attiyah in 2015. In recent years, Orly finished in the top 20, with the exception of 2019, when he retired with a lower back injury, and 2021, when he had to abandon due to mechanical problems with his Mini. In February 2021, Orly received an offer to join the ambitious Bahrain Raid Extreme project, with its friendly atmosphere and a huge motivation for the Dakar, with a focus on the level of the car and driver comfort. Despite little mileage in the Hunter, Terranova took on the Dakar 2022. He managed to maintain a solid pace, with a stage victory and a career-best fourth-place finish, which is also the best result ever achieved by an Argentinean driver in the car category. During the season, Orly only did the Rally of Morocco. However, he didn't seem to feel the lack of competition and finished runner-up to Guerlain Chicherit in a historic one-two finish for the team. Since then, Orly has had Alex Haro as his new navigator, with whom he immediately got on the same wavelength. The Spaniard, who has accompanied Dakar champions such as Nani Roma and Giniel de Villiers, is satisfied and very confident in the Hunter's consistency to battle at the sharp end. On the back of the BRX team's successes in Morocco and Andalusia, Orly has the car to race for the Dakar podium.
